Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Shreveport - Downtown By Ihg, Shreveport

My stay at the hotel was quite pleasant overall. The rooms were cozy and close to the checking area, although I wish there was a coffee pot to go with the coffee maker. Fortunately, we ended up with a suite that had an extra room with a pull-out bed. The service, on the other hand, seemed a bit overwhelmed with maintenance issues but was friendly, with some lapses in thoroughness. The location was fantastic, making it easy to find and accessible, but there was a slight confusion with multiple Holiday Inns in the same area. The dining experience was up-to-date and fantastic, offering mouth-watering dishes, but was unfortunately canceled one day due to Thanksgiving.

The hotel had some positives but also a few drawbacks. The rooms had plenty of electrical outlets but still had old Best Western items, and there was a noticeable old smell. The service was friendly overall, but there was an incident with snapping at my daughters over a coffee spill, which was quickly apologized for due to ongoing construction. The location was convenient near restaurants but had some security concerns. The dining experience needed improvement and had availability issues due to recent water service restoration.

Despite some issues with cleanliness and mixed-up reservations, the hotel's location near various restaurants and the Shreveport Convention Center makes it convenient. The friendly staff adds a positive touch, but the dining and room conditions could be improved.
